Enjoy a day ‘giving back’ at Holland Park. This outdoor event will be suitable for individuals and families with gardening activities appropriate for all. HCUK will take part in Holland Park’s ‘Task Force for Nature’.
HOLLAND PARK:
The Royal Borough’s largest park with 22.5 hectares of gardens, children’s play facilities, sports areas, a café, and large areas of woodland abundant with wildlife. Contained within the park is the beautiful Kyoto Garden, a Japanese garden donated by the Chamber of Commerce of Kyoto in 1991.
Holland Park is also the base of the boroughs Ecology Service. The Ecology Centre at Holland Park runs a series of events, activities and educational visits and workshops for schools. They also run a wildlife club for children, holiday activities and a full programme of events for all ages. Task Force for Nature is a monthly session for everyone interested engaging with nature and learning about the ecology of the Park. The park gardeners rely on volunteer groups continue to improve and maintain special areas within the park.
Getting There:
Tube: (To nearest park entrances) Holland Park, High Street Kensington, Notting Hill Gate, Kensington Olympia. Holland Park is the closest to the task area.
Buses: (to Kensington High Street entrance) 9, 10, 27, 28, 31, 33, 49.
Car Parks: There is only limited car parking at Holland Park (3hr Maximum stay). The surrounding roads are resident permit holder parking only.
