Uniting Harvard in the United Kingdom
Welcome to the Harvard Club of the United Kingdom and our website. The Club was established in 1916 and is now the largest Harvard Club outside of the United States, with an active membership of over 800. We serve as an umbrella organization for almost 9,000 Harvard alumni on record who live and work throughout the UK, and our members include graduates of Harvard College and all of Harvard’s graduate and professional schools.
We pride ourselves on being ambassadors for Harvard in the UK, the birthplace of John Harvard, by facilitating alumni engagement with Harvard and with each other, and by galvanising the alumni community to serve the broader UK society via outreach to secondary schools and public service.
HCUK is the largest international club, with almost 9,000 alumni on record

Pursue Lifelong Learning
After graduation, our alumni have suggested that their love of learning remains unabated and they continue to value intellectual engagement with the university and with fellow graduates. We therefore seek to provide a range of opportunities for lifelong learning, from lectures by visiting Harvard professors, to presentations by fellow alumni on topics of expertise, to collaborations with high-quality external event providers.
Support Current & Future Students
There are many opportunities to support both current and future students in the UK. Interviewing for admission to Harvard College and getting involved with our Outreach Programme are great ways to engage with young people who are interested in studying in the US and to represent Harvard. You may consider sponsoring the Harvard Prize Book programme, a Harvard tradition that started in 1910. You can also help current Harvard students by offering internship opportunities or by hosting members of touring singing groups.
Engage in Public Service
Serving the broader society is central to the mission of the Club. We are committed to providing a wide range of opportunities for our alumni to harness their energy and talent for the good of their communities. Getting involved in public service is also a great way to have new life experiences and to connect with like-minded fellow alumni. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in volunteering or if you have ideas for additional community service activities.
Become a Member
Joining HCUK as a member is great value for money, giving you exclusive access to prestige events such as our annual reception at the Houses of Parliament, plus discounted event prices, and other benefits such as discounts on membership to the Sloane Club and How To Academy events. We are also always keen to hear from alumni who are interested in volunteering their time to support the running of the club, from organising events to liaising with secondary schools to curating our social media presence.
