Cholera, Cures and Celebrity

Dr Snow’s Soho & Bloomsbury Medical History Walk

Led by a Public Health Physician, the tour explores key moments from the prevention of contagion and the treatment of royalty to Dr. John Snow’s fight against cholera. We’ll follow in the footsteps of medical pioneers, encounter famous historical figures, and see the very places where public health was changed forever. This is a journey that connects the past to the present, showing how the city’s rich history shaped the world of medicine.

Barry is our “Renaissance man.” Nine degrees. Microbiologist – he was on the front lines against Coronavirus. He’s a Consultant Public Health Physician. He’s an Art Historian. He’s a professionally qualified Blue Badge Guide. Have a listen to him  – you’ll come away edified, lost in admiration and pleased. What a life, what a career, what a man! And, yes, what a guide.
