The evening will feature a brief reflection on the American influences that have helped shape London’s transport, before introducing Janet Echelman and her vision for a placemaking new public artwork commission for London Transport Museum.

A graduate of Harvard University, Echelman is one of the world’s most celebrated creators of monumental public art. Known for her award-winning aerial sculptures that combine art, architecture, engineering and urban design, she has transformed public spaces across five continents. Her commission for London Transport Museum will be her first permanent public installation in the UK.
