Join us for a special cinema screening of this acclaimed documentary, drawn from Zoom interviews with over 100 members of the Radcliffe Class of ’75 and directed by Emmy award- winning filmmaker Pamela Hogan AB ’77, in conjunction with the leaders of the Radcliffe ’75 Oral History Project and award-winning film editor Andy Fredericks.

This unique film captures a transformative moment in history, when women were still fighting for a place—and a voice—at one of the most prestigious institutions in the world. As the last class admitted to Radcliffe College under the 4-to-1 male-to-female ratio, these women arrived on the Radcliffe Harvard campuses just as the second wave of the feminist movement was gaining momentum, but long before full equality had taken hold. Their stories reveal the realities of life in the early 1970s—from coping with the newly instituted co-ed housing to demanding equal access to athletics and extracurriculars, to lacking female role models due to the near-total absence of women faculty at Harvard.

To bring this event to life we have invited the executive producers for thought-provoking insights and questions from the audience. This is a rare and meaningful opportunity to see it in a real cinema—and to be part of the conversation it sparks. The stories will resonate with women (and male) graduates of the universities and colleges of Oxford and Cambridge, Yale, Princeton and the Seven College Conference from this era and beyond.

The Garden Cinema, on the edge of Covent Garden, has been open since 2022 and  screens curated films alongside selected new releases from around the world. It is a wonderful venue with its own Garden Bar and a membership scheme. https://www.thegardencinema.co.uk/
