Walking Tour of John Harvard’s Southwark

Back by popular demand!

Join us for a walking tour of Southwark Borough, where John Harvard grew up prior to emigrating across the Atlantic. We’ll start at the historical Southwark Cathedral and make our way past several points of interest, such as the famous Borough Market, the Shard, and the John Harvard Library.

After the tour, we will attend a prayer service at 3:30 pm and then join the Dean of the Cathedral (the Very Reverend Dr Mark Oakley) for a drinks reception. Please indicate which of these activities you plan on joining us for so we can plan accordingly.

1:30 pm – 3:30 pm (Walking Tour)

4 pm onward reception with the Dean of the Cathedral

John Harvard Library Donation: As alumni of one of the most famous educational institutions, we would also like to encourage attendees to bring along any print or AV media they would like to donate. Southwark Librarians will inspect all donations for condition and suitability. Items not added to stock will be disposed of in accordance with the library’s withdrawal policy. DVD donations can be accepted, where the item has been classified by the British Board of Film Classification and can legally be rented. Sadly, they do not accept academic journals.
