Connect with the Community
Public Service events and volunteering
Public service is central to the core mission of the Harvard community and the Club is always looking to grow its public service involvement.
Community service events foster a sense of social responsibility and collective well-being. HCUK organises these events to provide members with the opportunity to make a positive impact on their communities and address social issues.
One example is serving food to the homeless in London in collaboration with the charitable group, Nishkam SWAT. Another example is Holland Park’s ‘Task Force for Nature’ that mobilises volunteers to engage in preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the park by planting trees and restoring habitats of wild-life.
We also leverage other large events like Global Networking Night to raise donations of funds or clothing for victims of war or natural disasters. For example, we ran a successful clothing drive to collect winter coats for the Wrap Up London Campaign, and collected donations for the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and for victims of the 2023 earthquake in Syria and Turkey.
Join us this Giving Tuesday to support the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter
Donate directly by purchasing items from our wishlist, which will be sent straight to the shelter.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. Together, we can bring warmth and hope to those in need this winter.
